Breez Evahflowin Biography

In January of 2001, MTV networks exposed the world to one of the fiercest lyricist ever to touch a microphone. It was here on the network’s urban music program “Direct Effects” that Breez Evahflowin’ set an unprecedented run as MC battle champion. For seven weeks straight the public saw Breez conquer challengers with amazing wit & presence. Breez appeared alongside such hip-hop icons as Funkmaster Flex, Sway, DJ Premier, Mya, and a host of others. The demand for more grew, Breez took the show on the road. For most of the world, his story begins here. But there have been Breez fans for years, here are some of the reasons why.

Breez, who hails from New York City, has spent many years creating his potent contribution to hip-hop’s legacy. A student of lyricism, Breez learned the value of cadence and wit at an early age from reciting the words of Big Daddy Kane and Kool G Rap. After Breez finished high school, where he honed his developing lyrical talent, he went on to pursue his musical dreams.

Citizens of the hip-hop world caught their first taste of the “Evahflowin’ effect” by way of his independent release “Forsaken”. The buzz from this single took indie Hip-hop by storm, with Carlito Rodriguez, Former editor-in-chief of the Source magazine, hailing him as an artist who is “nice with his (lyrics).” Following his successful debut, Breez released a bevy of other independent smashes, such as the much praised “I Heard It”. The single received heavy rotation at the nation’s most popular stations, including Power 95 in Washington D.C., Q102 in Philadelphia and, of course, New York’s own, Hot-97.

Taking his cue from the independence aesthetic inherit in hip-hop music, Breez began a tireless campaign of self-promotion, making appearances at all major hip-hop functions. He eventually secured a position as a co-host of the Hot-97 ”Mic Check Show” in 1995. Breez’ hosting career continued to flourish from there as he landed a role as the on-camera co-host of 88hiphop.com. He also recently had the opportunity to produce his own original hip-hop program for Urban Box Office.

Going beyond the label of  “rapper”, Breez uses every opportunity to embody hip-hop in all its forms. “I’m not lookin’ for a rap job, I want a hip-hop career!” says Breez of his work ethic. From appearances on BET’s Rap City to his multiple wins in the Blaze Battle and being the first MC to ever win an MC Battle on NBC’s Carson Daly show, Breez has created an unprecedented buzz in this competitive industry.

Breez juggles his bubblin’ solo career with the demands of being a part of the eight-man squad of verbal assassins/Hip-hop entrepreneurs, STRONGHOLD. From performing the title music to X-Box’s NBA Inside Drive 2003 video game to providing talent for everyone from Viacom to Miller Brewing co., Breez and his STRONGHOLD partners provide services for a variety of clients.
